China’s C-List and Beyond: Group Insurance, Provider Uptake, and Commercial Payment Strategies
Access360 Audio Briefing
An expert conversation accompanied by a written synthesis for quick executive review.

In Part III of NRDL+'s latest Access360 interview with Professor Wanyan, whose roles include director of the China Insurance Development Research Center at Southwestern University of Finance and Economics, we explored the early rollout and implementation dynamics surrounding C-List integration with group health insurance, provider adoption, and a major bottleneck that could complicate alignment across insurers, manufacturers, and hospitals.
Building from these implementation questions, we also explored broader commercial payment strategy issues, including what makes a sustainable payment solution for orphan therapies, the evolving role of third-party administrators (or TPAs), which in some respects play a PBM-like role in China’s commercial insurance ecosystem, and the essential capabilities manufacturers need to build a scalable commercial payment strategy for medical technologies.
